Cyber Essentials and Lexcel 6.1
November 2018 and all Law Practices wanting to be Lexcel Certified will be assessed to the new 6.1 Standard.
As part of the new standard it is recommend that your practice should be Cyber Essentials certified, or demonstrate your IT Security measures to your Lexcel Assessor.
Running your practice is hard enough with the challenges you can see, let alone those you can’t. Securing your business data against theft, attack and destruction is now your number one priority, because it’s a case of when, not if.
So, you know you need to take the right steps to securing your business technology and the data you hold, but what do you do next?
Southern IT are running a free webinar, specifically for Lexcel practices....
This 30 minute session will explain what Cyber Essentials is, how it will improve your business security and the common mistake that practices are making by waiting for their Lexcel renewal/annual maintenance visit date to approach, before applying for certification.
There are 2 dates to choose from, both with exactly the same content. Please choose the slot that best fits in with your availability and register your free place!
17th January 10am
30th January 10am
What is Cyber Essentials?
As part of its drive to get the UK protected from cyber threats, GCHQ and the National Cyber Security Centre have worked with the industry and developed the Cyber Essentials scheme which helps organisations protect themselves from the most common internet security threats.
The Cyber Essentials scheme is a key deliverable of the UK’s National Cyber Security Programme.
Why do you need Cyber Essentials?
With Cyber Essentials, you can prevent around 80% of common cyber-attacks.
The scheme provides a mechanism for you to demonstrate to customers, investors, insurers and others that you have taken essential precautions to secure your organisation against cyber risks.
The scheme will also increase your opportunities within the private sector as it is required for UK Government contracts that involve the handling of personal and sensitive information.
Southern IT Networks are one of only a handful of Certification Bodies in the Sussex Region that can certify you to the Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and IASME Governance standards.
Why choose us for your Lexcel Cyber Security needs?
Cyber Essentials needn't be onerous for your legal practice.
Working together with your compliance managers and current IT departments we can make sure that you understand and demonstrate that you have essential IT security controls in place.
We work in partnership with Inspiring Business Performance to help them deliver the Cyber Essentials requirements to their clients, which also means that we understand the requirements of the Lexcel Standard fully.
